When you see the view from the first and tenth tee of the North Essex Country side, you know your day of golf will be special. The array of colours is unexpected – startling greens, tees and fairways, and the seasonal colours of the surrounding fields create a scene of incomparable beauty.
The scenery at Colne Valley is exquisite, one of the best in the area. The golf course encompasses 130 beautiful acres of rolling hills and trees, very rare for a course so young. The undulating fairways offer a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. You’ll see an occasional deer, and many more fantastic sites. You’ll often also hear the sound of woodpeckers, and the bird song is a delight for any golfer or caddie, and you will find a beautiful setting and natural ambience.
From the white tees, the course measures 6,295 yards and plays to a par 70 SSS 71. The course is considered to be one of the tougher courses in Essex and has hosted many major Essex amateur competitions. But fear not. With two additional tee placements at 5,844 yds for yellow tees, 5,411 yds. for red (Ladies), Colne Valley can provide as little or as much of a challenge as you want to bite off.
